Born and raised in Toba, Japan, Yoskay Yamamoto moved to the United States at the tender age of 15. A self taught artist/illustrator Yamamoto utilizes a number of different mediums and techniques to produce his work. Yamamoto’s artistic tastes broadened as he fell in love with the urban culture of the West Coast. Discovering a way to combine his Japanese and American backgrounds together, Yamamoto nostalgically blends iconic pop characters from his current Western home with mythical and traditional Japanese elements, balancing both through his art.
